Surfside Bus
We have chartered a bus from First Student for Surfside. The cost per student is $15 (includes travel to and from camp, and financial assistance is available as needed). The Surfside bus will load at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, and leave from NFC as soon as it’s loaded.
The bus will stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory after camp on Saturday, returning to NFC by 1:40 p.m. Students from other churches would like to travel with us, so I’ll need you to contact me directly if you plan for your child(ren) to be on the bus. We also have a sign-up sheet in the NFC Office. Students traveling only one way must pay the full $15 this year.
Summer Small Groups
We have middle and high school small groups that meet during the summer.
Leslie Murray (youth pastor at North Valley) leads two groups for girls that meet six times during the summer. These groups include craft projects and field trips along with discussions on body image, media messages, and identity. See the attached letter for more information.
Eric Muhr (youth pastor at Newberg) leads two groups for boys that meet four times during the summer. These groups each include a mini-adventure with discussions on achievement, identity, purpose, and relationships. See the attached letter for more information.
Day at the Lake
We’re going to the lake on Wednesday, July 6. Volleyball. Swimming. Frisbee. Food. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, and whatever water toys, footballs, or other assorted recreational items that might be of use during the day.
Meet at North Valley Friends at 10 a.m.
Back by around 4 p.m.
Middle and high school students are invited.
Parents are welcome to join us as well.
Let Eric know if you or your parents are planning to come, so we can get a rough count for food.
St. Paul Rodeo
We’ll meet at the church at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 4, and drive out together to the St. Paul Rodeo. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is followed by fireworks. This event is open to middle and high school students. Cost is $10 per student. We are covering the cost of chaperons. Let me know if you’d like to be involved.
Breakfast Fund-Raiser
We’re hosting breakfast as a thank you for the NFC Wood Ministry Team. The breakfast will be in the NFC Social Hall from 8 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, and we need volunteer cooks (showing up at 7 a.m.), hosts (showing up at 7:30), servers (7:45), and clean-up crew (8:30). Money raised can be applied to any youth events you plan to take part in this year. Additional funds raised will go toward program scholarships. Let Eric know if you can help.
Youth Group Schedule
Youth group has ended for the summer. We’ll start back in September.
